Jesus Christ Heals

"Be Thou Made Whole"

Modern medicine 'creates' miracle upon miracle, yet all too often it feels as if our lives are overrun by disease, dis-ease and discomfort. The disease of the moment seems to be 'swine flu' because of the current media frenzy. Is it just me, or do you find yourself wondering why we find ourselves suffering from, if not dying from, diseases our grandparents never even heard of or never worried about if they had?

Has our dependence upon modern conveniences and modern science turned us away from our Source? The first chapter of Jesus Christ Heals by Charles Fillmore suggests a less 'modern' approach to life and living:

"Jesus saw in Himself the perfect pattern of God. He lived so close to
that pattern that He became its perfect expression. As He continued
to live closer and ever closer to God, He beheld all men as living
inventions of God, and through His spiritualized mentality, awakened
the image of the perfect pattern of God in those who came to Him
for help. Thus, by arousing their souls' energy to such an extent
that the physical became immersed in the healing life, He enabled
the perfect man to come into manifestation."

I believe that we have become so rushed and distracted by the pace of modern life, that we often lose sight of our own true nature as the Children of God, made in the image and likeness of God. I know how easy it is to stumble out of bed and stagger into a day which seems to spread endlessly before us, a continuation of all the days before and the days yet to be. And that's just not right!

We've all felt that inner longing for something more, a sense of hope and connection to something greater than we ourselves. We want to feel the breath of God stirring our souls and calling us to a new purpose, the possibility of living the life for which we were created. We want to feel whole again physically, mentally and spirituality. Reconnecting to our God-self through prayer and meditation is the first step.

Transforming our lives begins with changing our minds. "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind." We must harmonize our thoughts and actions with our desires for a healthier and more meaningful life.

If I always think what I always thought,
I'll always be what I've always been,
I'll always get what I always got!
